I see a lot of people on our group looking for recommendations so I would like to share with you all a small but exceptional design and project management company that turned my cottage into my dream home ... Jasper and Jari assisted us greatly in the construction process of our family home in Paarl, Western Cape, South Africa.

In March 2018 we purchased an apartment in Cape Town, Woodstock, as an investment. We procured the property, sight unseen, with the assistance of Mr. and Mrs. Esterhuizen as we were familiar with their particular skills set as experienced realtors in America. Our total confidence in their judgement, that it would be a good investment, has been thoroughly proven over the past two years.
Furthermore, while living abroad, we contracted The J Factor to renovate our new apartment for rental purposes on the higher end. Though the apartment was rather dingy and ordinary looking at the time of purchase, we had the utmost confidence that the Esterhuizens could transform it into a property of much higher value as we had seen their impeccable taste in interior design on display on two continents.
Such was our confidence in the character, commitment and work ethic of the Esterhuizens, as well as their knowledge of the rental market and extraordinary design and project management skills, that we basically relied on them to envision the whole project on our behalf. They gave us some great ideas to choose from but we basically gave them carte blanche with the reconstruction and design of the interior within our allotted budget, inclusive of full furnishings.
It would be an understatement to say that the end result was superb in every way – it was a complete transformation and the Esterhuizens went over and above what we had expected of them. Our renters have referred to this apartment as ‘clever in design’, ‘a hidden gem’, ‘a creative use of available floorspace’ and much more. The Esterhuizens have invested more of themselves than we had dared to hope for and our great investment is a total credit to their exceptional skills, with particular reference to their uncanny eye for beauty and their limitless vision.
We can recommend the services of The J Factor in good conscience and our journey toward ownership and renovation was a joy – thanks to these two exceptional professionals.

I highly recommend Jasper and Jari Esterhuizen of the J Factor for any building or remodeling project you may have. When my husband and I purchased our home in Melkbosstrand, we began the massive task of remodeling the very outdated house. Other builders told us it would take 6 months to finish and with the expert help of the J Factor we finished in the miraculous time of 10 weeks.
Jasper and Jari bring so much to the table. They have an excellent eye for design and know how to get the desired effect without spending too much money. Because of the many projects they have already done they have knowledge of many excellent sub- contractors, artisans and vendors. This enables them to oversee an excellent team and also source such unique and creative elements to make the home really one-of-a-kind. Jari is an excellent administrator and kept tabs on the finances, paying the sub-contractors and various vendors. This took a massive burden off us and enabled us to focus on the many other tasks that needed to be done.
